Mayor's Commentary - Coronavirus Cases in Kasama City (as of July 15)
The second case of coronavirus was confirmed today in Kasama City.
According to the Ibaraki Prefectural Government, the newly infected person in Kasama City is a woman in her 20s who is currently hospitalized but symptom-free.
Anyone can contract this virus. Thus, as we transition into this "With Corona" stage of life, each one of us should consider what we can do while being forced to coexist with coronavirus.
It has become crucial to interpret information correctly and to respond appropriately. Therefore, we must not panic but rather act calmly, following the basics of the "New Lifestyle" guidelines, such as washing your hands thoroughly, rinsing your mouth, and wearing a mask.
In accordance with the Infectious Diseases Control Law's basic guidelines, we care about privacy and personal data protection. For that reason, the City will not disclose any information without consent to avoid confusion caused by spreading uncertain information.
The City will continue implementing thorough measures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, so please do not be misled by false rumors and be considerate in your words and actions.
Let us deal with this situation, starting with what each of us can do to avoid getting infected and avoid infecting others.
