Mayor's Commentary - The Danger Hasn't Passed (as of May 18)
On Friday, May 15, a state of emergency was lifted in 39 prefectures.
Along with the lifting, people's movement, and the restricted use of shops, commercial facilities, and public facilities have been gradually resumed.
Kasama City's own public facilities have also been partially reopened under some restrictions.
However, the coronavirus has not been eliminated. It is vital that all citizens stay alert and continue taking basic infection preventive measures.
In order to prevent the second and third waves of infection, it is necessary to carry out social and daily life activities with the utmost care, instead of returning to the lifestyle existent before the disease spread.
I would also like to ask all those affected by the spread of the infection to make maximum use of the national, prefectural, and municipal governments' support systems. If you have any questions, please contact the related department at the City Hall.
Furthermore, 280 million yen will be subsidized to the City according to the government's support system. In the future, together with the City Assembly, we will work on developing policies leading to short-term, medium-term, and long-term growth.
We would like to ask all citizens for cooperation in our further coronavirus efforts and personal protective measures.
