Medical Insurance System for the Latter-Stage Elderly (後期高齢者医療制度, kouki koureisha iryou seido)
As you approach the age of 75, the health insurance you had up until now will change to the Medical Insurance System for the Latter-Stage Elderly (Late-Stage Medical Care System for the Elderly).
The health-care system for people aged 75+ is administered at the prefectural level by organizations called the Wide Area Union for the Late-stage Medical Care System for the Elderly (Wide Area Union) in cooperation with each municipality.

Out-of-pocket Expenses (how much you owe) |
1/10 of the total cost (3/10 for individuals with more than one standard income) Please show your Senior Insurance Card to the medical institution when getting a medical examination. |
