Mayor's Commentary - Warning for a Second Wave (as of July 3)
As of today, July 3, six new people have tested positive for coronavirus in Ibaraki prefecture.
Following the Ibaraki Prefecture Coronavirus Countermeasures Guidelines Ver. 2, based on the number of positive cases per day, positive cases percentage, and infection status in Tokyo, the prefecture has entered "Stage 2".
This means that we will not close schools or request closure of all facilities and stores. However, we ask everyone to be extremely careful when traveling to the Tokyo area and staying there.
Especially for the elderly, people with chronic illnesses, and expectant mothers, please take extra caution when going out.
We also request that businesses comply with the prefectural guidelines and register with the 'Amabie-chan' notification application for the disease outbreak.
We also ask all citizens to follow the New Lifestyle Guidelines and continue taking infection preventive measures.
