The large-scale vaccination program for COVID-19 conducted by Ibaraki Prefecture ended on Friday, December 25, 2022.
If you want to receive the vaccine, please use a healthcare institution participating in the individual vaccination program or a public vaccination site if available.

Booster vaccinations (3rd and 4th doses) are currently offered at the Ibaraki Large-Scale Vaccination Site in Mito City.

Vaccinations against the Omicron strain (bivalent vaccine) will be offered from November 1 to December 25, 2022.

Vaccination Period

2022/11/1 (Tue) - 2022/12/25 (Sun)

Eligible Persons

  • Persons aged 12+ who have completed the initial vaccination (1st and 2nd doses)
    ※Those who have not completed the initial vaccination need to receive the first two doses of the conventional vaccine.
  • Persons who have never been vaccinated with Omicron-specific vaccines before
    ※Persons who have once been vaccinated against the Omicron strain, regardless of whether it is BA.1 or BA.4/5, are not eligible to receive the Omicron strain-compatible vaccine.

Vaccine type

 Pfizer: Omicron BA.4/BA.5-adapted bivalent vaccine
 

Vaccination Interval/Number of Doses

  • Vaccination Interval: 3 months or more from the previous vaccination
  • Number of Doses: 1 dose per person

How to make a Vaccination Appointment 

▶Register online or by phone through the Kasama City Vaccine Call Center.
(Both services are available in Japanese only)

Reservations for the December vaccinations will begin on November 11 (Fri) at 9:30 am.

When you get your vaccine

  • Please bring:
  1. Vaccination Voucher (接種券, sesshuken) with your Prevaccination Screening Questionnaire (予診票, yoshin hyo) *Please fill in the Questionnaire in advance
  2. Personal I.D. (residence card, my number card, insurance certificate, driver's license, etc.)
  3. Prescription Record Book (お薬手帳, okusuri techo) if you are taking any medications

  • Please note:
  1. Please wear clothes (t-shirt, etc.) that ensure easy access to your upper arm and shoulder. The injection site is the arm (near the shoulder).
  2. Please manage your transfer to the vaccination site yourself.

ATTENTION:

! If you have a fever (37.5 ℃/99.5 °F) on the day of vaccination, you cannot get a shot.
If you have to cancel your appointment due to your poor health condition, please call the Large-Scale Vaccine Call Center. ※Available on your vaccination days only

Vaccination Cancellation in Case of a Natural Disaster

Vaccinations at the Ibaraki Large-Scale Vaccination Site may be canceled in case an earthquake, typhoon, flood, or other disaster has occurred or is expected to occur.

Vaccinations Without Reservations

Vaccinations (3rd and 4th doses) are offered without prior reservation if there are free time slots,

However, priority will be given to those who have made reservations. Therefore, you may not be able to get vaccinated if there are no free time slots.

Please bring your Vaccination Voucher (接種券, sesshuken) with your Prevaccination Screening Questionnaire (予診票, yoshin hyo) and your Personal I.D.
