When you receive your Vaccination Voucher, please make an appointment as soon as possible if you want a booster shot.
You can make a reservation for vaccination at a health care institution, public vaccination venue in Kasama City, or Ibaraki Large-Scale Vaccination Site in Mito City.

Current COVID-19 Vaccination Rate (3rd dose)
The current 3rd dose vaccination rate is 58.14% in Kasama City, 59.46% in Ibaraki Prefecture, and 56.23% nationwide.
The vaccination rate among the young in the city is lower than in the prefecture and nationwide.

The next Public Vaccination appointments start on May 2 (Mon) at 9:30 am
・Vaccination dates: May 14 (Sat) and May 28 (Sat)
Public Vaccinations in Kasama City will finish by the end of May. From June, only Individual Vaccinations at health care institutions will be available.

Booster vaccinations are underway. So, if you have received your Vaccination Voucher and want a booster shot, please make an appointment as soon as possible.

 

Since the COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness and immunity decreases over time, even after receiving two doses, the national government has announced a policy regarding the 3rd (booster) dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Vaccine Types

The mRNA vaccine (Pfizer, Takeda/Moderna) regardless of vaccine type, given for the first and second doses.

The use of vaccine brands different from the initial doses is approved for booster shots.

Vaccination Options (How can I get vaccinated?)

There are two basic options:

• Public Vaccinations (集団接種, shudan sesshu)
• Individual Vaccinations (個別接種, kobetsu sesshu)

Public Vaccinations

Up until now, those who have chosen public vaccinations for their initial two doses were offered the 3rd dose at Kasama Civic Gymnasium. However, following the policy of the national and prefectural governments to accelerate vaccinations, the reservation method for Public Vaccinations has changed. An appointment is necessary.

Individual Vaccinations

Those who have chosen individual vaccinations for their initial two doses were offered the 3rd dose at a health care institution. The reservation method for Individual Vaccinations remains the same as before. An appointment is necessary.

*As of March 17, Moderna vaccines are provided for Public Vaccinations. From April 4, Pfizer vaccines will be offered. Vaccine types provided at the Public Vaccination site are subject to change depending on the vaccine supplies from the national government. Please check back regularly for updated information.

For people aged 12-17 years old

If you choose individual vaccinations, please make an appointment with a healthcare institution that offers Pfizer vaccines.
Children aged 16 years old and younger should be accompanied by a responsible adult.
